My favorite piece of history from this years class was the holocaust scrapbook. The whole class put a ton of effort into each page of that project and it really showed in the end product. My pages consisted of pictures of real teenagers alive during the time of the holocaust and were actually in concentration camps or ghettos around Europe or needed to seek refuge in a whole new continent because their homes were no longer theirs. This was my favorite piece because it really made me realize that people my age back then had to fight for their lives just because of their religion and the fact that some people did not agree with it. I connected with these people because of my age, but defiantly cannot imagine what type of hardship they had to go through in their lives.
These three pictures are examples of some of the people I used on my pages in the scrapbook. They are real people who experienced the second world war and Nazi regime first hand. As you can see, they all look around the same age as I am (15). This is the reason why I feel some sort of connection with them, because of our like ages.
